Crews
The region has a good standard of English-speaking
crews with multiple international productions behind
their belts. Good 1st ADs, production designers,
gaffers, camera departments etc.
Crews are non-union and the costs are very
competitive. No weekend, night or holiday premiums.
Cost
Latvia is one of the most cost competitive filming centres in Europe. It is on average by 40% cheaper the Czech Republic and is very competitive compared to Hungary, Romania or Poland.
When to Shoot
Latvia has a typical four-season climate - warm summers, colourful leaves in fall, white winters, and spring in full bloom. June-July has up to 17 hours of sunlight, 4 magic hours. December-February has some 6 hours of sunlight.
